The Writers’ Workshop Invites Authors to Blog about Writing for Children

Charlbury, United Kingdom, (24th October 2011) – The Writers’ Workshop, a leading literary consultancy specialising in providing author feedback in the form of editorial critique, writing festivals and courses, is inviting children’s writers to provide guest blogs for their site.

Other blogs that have appeared on the site cover such issues as how to get published, writing non-fiction, and how to get feedback on your writing. Established authors have also contributed blogs to the site. The Writers’ Workshop is also running an online course on writing for children, which is designed to suit all abilities. The six week course covers topics such as creativity, story, character, style, and publication.

The writing for children courses are hosted weekly online, and each session features a video introduction, a written ‘lecture’, interactive classroom discussion, a writing exercise and feedback on homework. The next course begins in February 2012.

A spokesperson for The Writers’ Workshop said: “For other writers who are thinking about writing children’s books or would like some advice on a book they are currently writing, we would like to invite them to The Writers’ Workshop to write a blog. We don’t mind what topic the blog is based around, as long as it covers children’s books. This is a great opportunity for writers to share their wisdom and experience with others, and perhaps inspire the next generation of children’s writers.”
