Achilles operates the Utilities Vendor Database (UVDB) supplier management service on behalf of all the major UK utilities organisations, offering a source of current and potential suppliers through a series of inter-related services to improve efficiency of the procurement cycle, whilst promoting health and safety, environmental management and wider corporate responsibility.
The service offered by Achilles involved selecting potential suppliers through a pre-qualifying, evaluation and performance monitoring system. Trolex have been Achilles-approved as a trusted supplier of sensors and sensing systems for the industry by demonstrating the company’s capability for contracts with emphasis on health and safety, environment and high quality systems.
They will now become part of an industry-wide scheme allowing Utility Sector buying organisations subscribing to the system to access further information. After a recent investment in its industrial division in response to growth within the water utilities industry, Trolex now hopes to make use of the registration with Achilles to form valuable relationships within the water industry.
