Appointment Boosts Digital Team at Green Room Retail

Birmingham, United Kingdom (17th October, 2011) – Green Room Retail, leading expert providers of retail solutions including retail design, point-of-purchase, shop-in-shop and flagship store design, announces that Andy Holden has joined their digital team.

Hot on the heels of the appointment of former GraphiCo DMG creative partner Alex Weller as head of digital, Green Room has announced that Andy Holden has joined as digital creative director.

Andy has 15 years experience in digital marketing and advertising, and was previously creative director at 20:20, a UK top five digital agency.

Both appointments are into newly created roles and will see the rapid development of a full digital design capability, fully integrated with Green Room’s established retail design and delivery practice.

The pair has worked together previously as their respective agencies were both part of the Digital Marketing Group.

Richard Ash, founder and chief executive comments: “Digital media has had a meteoric impact on the retail world and we believe there is a genuine opportunity to build seamless, inspirational and compelling experiences for the connected consumer and retailer, as well as making it easier for our clients to deliver these solutions through one point of contact.

“Clients increasingly want to introduce digital solutions into their retail environments but have frustratingly had to employ two separate agencies, often resulting in inconsistent and fragmented experiences. Green Room is now positioned to challenge the status quo.

“Social media, smartphones and tablet PCs have suddenly increased the potential of digital technology in retail while customers have been empowered to engage with products, staff and their peers in new theatrical ways in-store. Not only that, click-and-collect, proximity, viral, email, social media and mobile marketing are all vital tools for driving footfall to stores and loyalty afterwards.

“We are delighted that Andy has reunited with Alex to develop this exciting new proposition for the practice. He brings with him huge amounts of knowledge and experience with clients from the FMCG, retail, entertainment and electronics sectors which I know will add tremendous value to our practice.”

Alex was a founding member of GraphiCo, the full service digital marketing agency acquired by the Digital Marketing Group (DMG) for £8.6m in 2007. GraphiCo clients included Pepsi, Bacardi, First Great Western and London Eye.

Andy has creatively won and led digital accounts as diverse as Pepsi, Sea Life, Carlsberg and Danone both on global and local levels. His expertise includes creative digital campaigns, big build websites, viral videos and games, social media experiences as well as through-the-line and ‘real-world’ integrated campaigns.

Andy comments: “These are amazing times for retail. The convergence of online and offline consumer touch points is gathering pace at an inextricable rate, posing a genuine opportunity for retailers equipped to embrace the challenge. My role is to guide clients through this maze of opportunities and deliver engaging, commercially viable and seamlessly merged digital and physical retail experiences.”

According to Design Week’s Top 100 Consultancy Survey, Green Room is the UK’s fastest growing retail design and delivery practice. Clients include Nike, Swatch Group, Blackberry, Mercedes-Benz, Timberland and Sony PlayStation.
