Northamptonshire, United Kingdom (9th July, 2013) – Technical Foam Services Ltd, a leading independent engineering-based manufacturer and foam producer, has recently secured a significant contract with a UK manufacturer of water drinking systems.
The water systems developed by the leading manufacturer feature a reticulated foam filter, specially impregnated and post-treated with carbon. This type of foam filter offers a low pressure drop, whilst having the advantage of carbon without the handling problems associated with loose powders.
Technical Foam Services has helped design two types of water filter: one for human drinking water in third world countries, and another for use in drinking apparatus in UK schools. Other traditional applications for carbon impregnated filter foams include colophony solder fume removal, ozone removal in office equipment, tobacco smoke and odour removal in domestic and industrial applications and waste water treatment. Technical Foam Services’ new contract is worth approximately £80,000 per year, but their UK customer expects this to grow significantly during the next few weeks—due to the patented design of the two filters.
