GBS Corporate Training Comments on Olympics’ Impact on Businesses

Fleet, United Kingdom (17th May, 2012) – GBS Corporate Training, a leading provider of management, business skills and leadership training to organisations in the UK, comments on the predicted impact the Olympic Games will have on businesses located in the South East and London.

This is a regular issue featuring on the news channels, and the general consensus is that from early July there will be added pressure on the transport system. The London Olympics website advises business owners to:

• Encourage staff to work from home or an alternative location
• Encourage staff to take annual leave
• Reduce the number of journeys
• Allow staff to work compressed weeks
• Find alternative meeting points that are less affected by the Games

Businesses have already started thinking about making full use of their staff’s time away from the office by looking to source their training outside London. Due to popular demand, GBS have arranged extra public courses at their facilities in Hampshire for the duration of the Olympics.

Says David Wilkins, Joint Managing Director of GBS: “We have also introduced a brand new one-day public course well in advance of the Olympics to help those managers that may be working from home or places other than the office: Managing Remotely, to be held on 5th July at our offices in Fleet.”

GBS Corporate Training is based in Fleet, Hampshire; an easy journey out of London against the Olympic traffic, and accessible locally from all mainline stations and the M3 motorway.
