Sikh’s presence in NewSikhs protest over Nat York

Hundreds of Sikhs today gathered here to protest Road Transport Minister Kamal Nath’s presence in the city and to highlight a case filed against him in a New York Court for his alleged role in 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

“We are here to inform the American public about the facts that many criminals including Minister Kamal Nath who participated in India’s 1984 genocide of the Sikh community have never been brought to justice,” said G S Pannun, one of the main organisers.

Outside the McGraw Hill building in Manhattan, protesters shouted slogans and stood holding placard that read ‘Stand for Justice’ while Kamal Nath attended a construction conference inside the building.

The Sikhs here also protested Kamal Nath’s very presence in New York likening him to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi who has been barred from entering the US and calling for similar treatment.
